Carly Ferro, Director Utah Sierra Club, oversees the Chapter's operations and programs while acting as the state lobbyist for the Chapter. She is also responsible for liaising with National programs and working alongside the Executive Committee to develop strategies for the organization's long-term health.  Carly joined Utah Sierra Club in 2017.

Carly holds a B.S. in Biology and participated and an M.S. in Environmental Management.

 

Carly grew up in Ocean County, NJ, a gateway to the Pine Barrens (Pinelands). Currently, Carly lives in Salt Lake City with her husband, daughter, and husky, Ghost, where they enjoy the greatest snow on Earth, Utah's hiking mountainous terrain, and playing soccer. 



Lauren Barros volunteers as the Leader of the Wasatch Back chapter of the Citizens’ Climate Lobby.  Ms. Barros owns LRBFamilyLaw, specializing in divorce, surrogacy, adoption, LGBT law, and complicated family law issues. Lauren is AV rated by Martindale Hubble and a Fellow of the Academy of Adoption and Assisted Reproduction Attorneys. Lauren is a member of the Third District Court Judicial Nominating Commission, the Utah State Bar Family Law Executive Committee (Chair 2011-2012), the National Center for Lesbian Rights’ Family Law Advisory Council, the Women Lawyers of Utah (President 2001-2002), and the American Inns of Court. Lauren received the Utah State Bar "Distinguished Family Law Practitioner" award in 2006 and the "Most Fabulous Attorney" award from Q Salt Lake Magazine many times. Catalyst magazine named Lauren one of Utah’s “Catalyst 100” and the Community Foundation of Utah selected her as one of its “Enlightened 50” individuals who are “making a real difference in the lives of Utahns through innovation, collaboration and commitment to the common good.” She and her husband, Tom Moyer, received Equality Utah's Allies Award in 2006. In 2004, Utah Business Magazine gave her a "Top 40 Under 40 Rising Stars" award, she has been listed in Utah Business Magazine's Family Law “Legal Elite” and in the American Trial Lawyers’ Association “Top 100 Trial Lawyers in Utah” for the many years.  In 2009, Lauren also helped create the first pro bono LGBT Law Clinic in Utah, Rainbow Law. She also provided free family law legal advice at the Third District Family Law Clinic for many years.


Tom Moyer is the Utah State Coordinator for Citizens' Climate lobby, a non-partisan group working with both political parties to create the political will for a livable world. CCL was instrumental in forming the bipartisan Climate Solutions Caucus in Congress, and worked with the Utah legislature to pass the 2018 “Environmental and Economic Stewardship Resolution." Tom is a mechanical engineer working for HDT Robotics on explosive ordnance disposal robots. He and his wife Lauren Barros live in the net-zero house they built in Park City.




Register by noon March 30 if lunch is desired.  Table 22 will provide Regular (Turkey, Bacon, Avocado) and Vegetarian (Portobello Mushroom) sandwiches, chips, and cookies.  Non-alcoholic beverages will also be provided

Select 'Regular' or "Vegetarian' during the registration process.  
Those registering after March 30 are welcome to attend and can pay with cash, check or credit card at the door. However, lunch may not be available since they’re pre-ordered based on advanced registrations.


Lunches ordered and not claimed by 12:00 may be given away to prevent food waste unless special arrangements are made in advance. Contact Lisa Yoder at 801-209-8757 if you expect to be late and want your lunch set aside.
