Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a set of communication tools anyone can use in their advocacy work. MI skills reduce resistance and promote collaboration. MI has 40 years of research and over 1200 published studies supporting its effectiveness across a wide variety of situations.

This workshop provides an introduction and hands-on experience with MI’s unique approach to collaboration for change. Participants will gain an understanding of MI’s philosophy and key methods as these relate to political work, e.g., with colleagues, as well as local and state constituents and leaders.
