Executive Director, Utah Democratic Party

Jade Velazquez

Jade Velazquez is the Executive Director of the Utah Democratic Party and former Chair of the Salt Lake County Democrats. With a background in political organizing, nonprofit management, and corporate leadership, he brings experience in grassroots engagement, coalition building, fundraising, and digital strategy. Velazquez is passionate about empowering community leaders and building stronger, more effective political organizations.

Women in Trades, Program Instructor

Concetta Defa

Concetta Defa began her career as an apprentice electrician with IBEW Local 354 in 1996 and has since served in roles ranging from journey worker and project manager to assistant business manager. A former vice president and president of UWIT, she now teaches in the Karen Mayne Pre-Apprenticeship Program, mentoring the next generation of skilled tradespeople and leaders. Concetta is passionate about helping others build careers and opportunities in the trades.
