Woman of the Year
Carol Spackman Moss
Carol Spackman Moss is a longtime Utah legislator and former public school teacher, fiercely advocating for education, women’s rights, and working families. Over her decades-long career, she has championed policies that strengthen schools, expand opportunity, and protect democratic values across Utah.
She is widely respected for her principled leadership, ability to build consensus, and commitment to lifting up underrepresented voices. Carol has advanced legislation supporting teachers, equitable access to education, and opportunities for women and girls across the state.
Climate Change / Public Health Speaker
Dr. Brian Moench
Dr. Brian Moench, a Stanford- and University of Utah-educated physician and founder of Utah Physicians for a Healthy Environment, is a nationally recognized public health advocate and leading voice on air pollution and climate impacts.
He spent four decades as an anesthesiologist performing more than 40,000 surgeries and has trained countless residents and medical students. In his talk, "Gov. Cox, You're Wrong About Nuclear Power", he will explore the science, policy, and public health implications of nuclear energy in Utah.
